As expected, the 2023 Ranger XLT is slightly longer and wider than its predecessor. With about 50 mm added, the next-gen Ranger XLT is 5370 mm in length, 1884 mm in height with a width of 1918 mm. With a curb weight of 2331 kg, this model has a payload of 949 kilograms and braked tow capacity of 3.5 tons, which is the same as other models in the Ranger lineup. The gross vehicle mass (GVM) is 3280 kg. 17-inch wheels are standard on this grade, and every 2022 Ranger XLT comes with a full-size spare wheel.
Under the hood of the new Ranger XLT, buyers can find two diesel engines. However, Ford’s official data states that the average consumption is between 7.6 and 8.4 litres of fuel which is reasonably frugal. The fuel tank is 80 litres, as in all other Ranger models. It is essential information for all buyers planning to take the next-gen XLT to the trail – the new model has an approach angle of 30, a ramp over angle of 21 and a departure angle of 23 degrees. It also has a wading depth of 800 mm. In terms of performance specs, the next-gen Ranger XLT can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.2 or 9.2 seconds, depending on the engine.

The 2022 Ranger XLT is all-new which means that it has an improved and thoroughly modernized interior with more comfort and features. First, there is a new dash design with enhanced ergonomics and seats. In front of the driver is a modern digital instrument cluster with an 8.0-inch display, and in the center console is a 10.1-inch infotainment display. The leather-wrapped steering wheel is standard, but leather seats are not available in this grade. All seats are covered in cloth with vinyl floormats as part of the package. Privacy glass is also standard, as well as a rear defroster.
The new 2022 Ranger XLT is available in three distinctive flavors with two diesel engines and three powertrain options. The entry-level model is the popular Hi-Rider 4x2, powered by a 2.0-litre Bi-Turbo diesel engine with 154 kW and 500 Nm of torque. Next in line is a part-time 4x4 with the same engine and specifications. The top version of the 2022 Ranger XLT lineup is 3.0-litre V6 turbo diesel with 184 kW and 600 Nm of torque and full-time 4WD. All models come with new 10-speed automatic transmission and several driving modes, but the 3.0-litre model has a locking differential as standard equipment. All models come with LED headlights, daytime running lights, dual-zone climate control, satellite navigation and digital radio. The sports bar and chrome inserts are standard, as is the spray-in bed liner. Two attractive option packs – Touring and Towing Pack- are available for Ranger XLT owners. The Touring pack includes integrated trailer brake control, 360 degrees camera and puddle lamps. Towing Pack comes with everything on Touring but Trailer Light check and Blind Spot Monitoring Trailer Coverage system.
In terms of safety features, there are nine airbags: intelligent and adaptive cruise control, Dynamic Stability Control (DSC), and emergency braking. The 360-degree camera and traffic sign recognition system are optional.

Ford prepared six distinctive colours for the 2022 Ranger XLT model. As expected, the Alpine White is the base colour and no-cost option, while all others are $650 on top of the price. Meteor Gray and Aluminum Silver are popular options, while Sedona Orange and Shadow Black look amazing. Of course Ford’s Blue Lightning is also available on all Ranger models.

The most expensive model is, the 3.0-liter V6 with 4WD, which costs $64,190. However, you can pay a bit more since the Touring or Towing Pack will add an additional $900. Premium colours will add $650 and all-terrain tyres $500.
